MINISTRY

Youth

At First Baptist Church of Palos Hills we believe in family. Our Sunday school is for the whole family, from Nursery to Senior Citizens. Our Sunday school teachers present God’s Word through singing, visual aids, object lessons, Scripture memorization, and Bible instruction. They strive to faithfully teach biblical principles every week.

Our goal is to build strong families that know and honor Jesus Christ and present Him to a world in need. We invite you to join us as we seek to glorify God in our homes and community. All young people are welcome.

The FBC teen ministry is Christians in Action (CIA). Their mission is “Serving God By Serving Others.” This principle is the focus of the programs and ministries in place to disciple and train our young people.

Our Youth Group consists of teenagers in grades 7-12. Teens meet on Sunday morning for a time of Bible instruction. The Wednesday Bible Study is a time of learning, prayer, and worship. Teens grow through discussion groups, activities and outings, and various opportunities to serve.

Our teens actively serve in volunteer ministries throughout the church including choir, nursing home visits, A/V, and music ministries.

This ministry seeks to help young adults establish and accomplish spiritual goals in one of the most important chapters of their lives. It will focus on the tools needed to make the best decisions, many of which will determine the direction of the future. We will provide meaningful opportunities as young adults share fellowship, build their faith, and, yes, have fun!

Filipino Sunday School

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son; In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

Colossians 1:12-14

A family of Filipino believers welcomes you warmly.

Our Filipino Home Bible Study started in the early 1990’s. From there, by the grace of God, we consistently have grown from the original 4 adults to more than 40, including children.

On March 2, 1998, we began our Filipino Sunday School Class with Mandy Pusung as our Bible Teacher under the pastoral supervision of Pastor Roger Disque. Our goals are to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to walk worthy and to be fruitful and always abounding in His work.

Our mission is to reach the lost, to help people know Christ, and to share the love and compassion of Christ Jesus, not only to our Kababayan (fellow countrymen), but to everyone.

To know more about our ministry, you can contact Mandy Pusung at (708) 979-0859 or flopsie2000@att.net.

Women’s Ministries

Our women’s ministries are designed to build closer relationships with the Lord and each other as we adorn the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Scheduled events include a monthly women’s Bible study and an annual women’s retreat.

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so, a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend”
Proverbs 27:17

In this verse the wisdom writer speaks to the role and responsibility that the men of FBC have to challenge each other to grow in faith and Christian character. A man’s character matters to God, it matters to his family, and it matters to his witness in the world. “Forging-Faith” Men’s Fellowship meetings seek to challenge men to spiritual maturity, to develop Christlike character, and to actively sharpen one another into the tool God wants men to be.
