God’s Word
We believe the Bible was authored by God, written down by men who were divinely inspired, and is without error in the original autographs. God’s Word is the authority by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.
God
We believe in one living and true God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the second person of the Triune God, the Eternal Word, and the only Begotten Son. We believe that Jesus, without any change in His divine Person, became a man by the miracle of the Virgin Birth, thus to continue forever as both true God and true man, one Person with two natures. Jesus is the perfect Lamb of God. He gave Himself in death upon the cross by His own blood. On the cross He became the sin of the world. His suffering paid the full penalty of God’s divine wrath upon sin in our stead. We believe Jesus arose bodily from the grave and was glorified. Jesus is our great High Priest who ascended into Heaven to sit at God the Father’s right hand as our Advocate and Intercessor.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity and the divine agent in creation, revelation, and redemption. The Holy Spirit is the divine agent in the conviction of sin, righteousness, and judgement. At salvation, the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, seals, and anoints all who become children of God through Christ. After salvation, the Holy Spirit empowers, guides, teaches, sanctifies, and fills believers who daily surrender to Him.
Creation
We believe that God created the universe in six literal 24 hour periods. We reject evolution and other similar theories as unScriptural.
Man
We believe that Man was created in holiness, but that by voluntary transgression fell from that holy state. In consequence all mankind are now sinners, and therefore under just condemnation to eternal punishment.
Salvation
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ alone. We believe salvation is the free gift of God, neither merited nor secured in part or in whole by virtue of the work of man, but received only by personal repentance and faith placed in the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom all true believers have as a present possession the gift of eternal life, sonship in the family of God, deliverance and security from all condemnation.
At the moment of salvation, every spiritual resource needed for life and godliness, and the divine guarantee that they shall never perish, is promised. Apart from Christ there is no possible salvation.
Repentance
We believe the Scriptures teach that repentance is a personal act prompted by the Spirit, and consists of a godly sorrow for sin; that it is accompanied with great humiliation over one’s sin and guilt together with prayer for pardon; also by sincere hatred of sin and a persistent turning away from all that is evil and unholy. Since none are sinless in this life, repentance needs to be often repeated.
Faith
We believe the Scriptures teach that faith is the medium through which the soul receives Christ as its Lord and Savior. It is the assent of the mind and a consent of the heart, consisting mainly of belief and trust; the testimony of God is implicitly accepted and believed as true, while Christ is unreservedly trusted for salvation; by it the believer is brought into a vital relationship with God, freely justified, and lives as seeing Him who is invisible. Faith cannot save, but it reveals Christ to the soul as a willing and sufficient Savior, and commits the heart and life to Him.
Sanctification
We believe the Scriptures teach that sanctification is the process by which we are made holy. It is a “progressive” work that it is begun in regeneration and is carried on by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit uses the Word of God, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer to make the believer Christlike.
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification.” (I Thessalonians 4:3)
The Church
We believe the Scriptures teach that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the ordinances and privileges invested in them by His Word, that its only scriptural officers are bishops, or pastors, and deacons, whose qualifications, claims, and duties are defined in the Epistles to Timothy and Titus. We believe that all true believers make up the universal church of Christ.
Baptism
We believe the Scriptures teach that Christian Baptism is the immersion in water of a believer in Christ, into the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost; to show forth, in a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior with its effect, in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; that it is prerequisite to the privileges of a Church relation, and to the Lord’s Supper.
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ
We believe in the personal, imminent, pre-tribulational, pre-millennial coming of Christ for the Church. After the rapture of the church, the tribulation, or seven years of God’s wrath will be poured out upon the inhabitants of the earth. At the end of this great tribulation, Jesus Christ will return with His saints to this earth where He will sit on the throne of David, and shall subdue all enemies and reign in righteousness for a thousand years. After this shall be the judgment of the Great White Throne when the unsaved dead shall be raised and judged which will result in eternal punishment in the lake of fire which is the second death. The saved shall then enjoy eternal glory with God.
